The “nude” eyeshadow palettes are a hot trend after the release of the -super popular- Urban Decay Naked palettes. Maybelline came out with its own neutral shades’ palette called “The Nudes” which costs about 15€.
12 metallic and matte shades will be tested NOW!
Maybelline The Nudes palette includes 12 beige, bronze, brown and grey shades with both metallic and matte finish. One of them is a basic golden beige shimmery color and a basic black.
The first line contains more basic and matte colors than the second one.
There are two categories of eyeshadows in this palette: The less pigmented colors which are mostly the light metallics and they are not buildable at all (so they stay sheer even if you put more product on) and the matte colors which are the darkest and they have high pigmentention but they are a bit chalky (so you need to be careful when applying them in order not to get transferred everywhere around the eyes). The longevity of these eyeshadows is better in darkest colors but again they don’t last that much. However, the quality of the packaging is nice as it is travel friendly and keeps the eyeshadows safe.
Maybelline’s The Nudes eyeshadow palette is a good choice for a begginer’s simple everyday eye makeup but the low pigmentention of the eyeshadows isn’t great for someone more experienced who needs a more intense eye makeup with contast of colors. It -definately- isn’t a dupe for Urban Decay’s Naked palette as it includes very basic colors and very few wow-effect shades, however I consider its price quiete reasonable.
I am gonna continue searching the perfect Urban Decay’s dupe for sure.
Do you have any suggestions? 🙂
